Cette famille, que l'on voit quelquefois écrite de Alis, est originaire de la Guyenne, où elle était possessionnée au XVIème siècle; elle existe encore de nos jours en Périgord, où elle vint se fixer au siècle dernier, par le mariage de Jean-Paul Dealis de Saujean, écuyer, avec Marie Juilhot de la Devise, fille unique de François-Joseph, écuyer, et de Antoinette de Sèches, par contrat passé à la Devise, paroisse de Saint-Barthélemy-de-Bellegarde, le 21 juin 1722. Le même jour, et au même lieu, la mère de Marie Juilhot épousait en secondes noces Joseph Dealis de Saujean, écuyer, seigneur d'Escalette. D'après des pièces conservées dans les dossiers de la Cour des Aides de Guyenne, on voit que: Saubat, écuyer, sieur de Montplaisir, épousa Isabeau de Sauvenelle, le 27 août 1633; il avait été confirmé dans sa noblesse par arrêt du Parlement du 5 juillet 1625. Il fut père de: Barthélemy, écuyer, sieur d'Escalette, marié le 31 mai 1664 avec Françoise Achard, qui fut maintenu par l'intendant Pellot, le 27 juillet 1667. Il lassa: Messire Jean-Luc, sieur d'Escalette, marié le 21 novembre 1714, avec Ephrosine de Callières (Archives de M. de Saint-Saud). ...
