In premio di tali qualità ottennero, ii Carlo, di Carlo, de Carlo o Carli, ovunque dimorarono, varie ricompense nobiliari. Un primo nucleo lo rinveniamo in territorio ligure, precisamente nella riviera di Ponente. Nel 1254 il marchese Emanuele di Clavesana concedeva in feudo a Rubaldo, del fu Odone, la metà del luogo di Onza. Nel 1380 Luchino fu priore del magistrato di guerra e nel 1389 anziano. Nel 1444 i membri di tal famiglia formarono uno dei 74 alberghi di Genova. Un altro nucleo lo rinveniamo in Veneto benché ancor prima in Istria.
