Nobility crown Di CostanzoSin dai tempi più remoti, è attestata la presenza di tal famiglia nel Regno di Napoli, al seggio di Montagna ed al seggio di Portanuova. La leggenda vuole che essa derivi da un cavalier Germano, oriundo della città di Costanza, chiamato Scipio e detto, in ossequio alla sua madre patria, "Costanzo". Il detto Scipio, avendo avuto contesa con un fratello naturale dell'Imperatore Corrado, circa nel 1130, lo servì in faccia; perciò fu costretto a partire dalla Germania e venirsene in Italia, ove da Re Ruggero fu amorevolmente raccolto e chiamato per quella "artione Scipio Spadainfaccia". Pietro Passano Genovese, invece, vuole che tale famiglia derivi dall'Imperatrice Costanza, figlia di Ruggero, Re di Sicilia, e di Alvira, nata d'Alfonso II Re di Castiglia, la quale, essendo per consiglio di Papa Celestino III tratta dal monastero di San Salvatore, fabbricato per ordine del predetto Ruggero in Palermo a richiesta del Beato Guglielmo "fondator ...
