Diciassette decurioni uscirono da questo nobile casato. Il primo fu Fabrizio nel 1116 e l'ultimo Vincenzo, dux militum, eletto nel 1560. Tra questa famiglia la sua origine in Lombardia, non possono le lingue dolose criticare contro l'antichissima origine, e progressi di questa chiarissima famiglia. Di origine longobarda, le prime sue memorie in Milano rimontano al tempo di Federico II, conformemente a quanto riferisce il Morgia Paolo nella "Nobiltà di Milano divisa in sei libri" stampato in Milano nel 1595. Lo stesso autore riferisce essere questa una delle più nobili ed antiche famiglie di Milano. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Infatti l'origine del motto risale a circa il XIV secolo e deve essere ricercata in quei detti arguti che venivano scritti sui vessilli o bandiere dei cavalieri, esposti alle finestre delle locande in cui questi alloggiavano, in occasione dei tornei, ...
