Nobility crown Emo CapodilistaNobilissima casata veneta sorta dall'unione, tramite il matrimonio di Leonardo Emo con Beatrice Capodilista, di due nobilissime prosapie: gli Emo ed i Capodilista. La famiglia Emo è originaria della Grecia da donde poi si trasferì in Dalmazia per rifugiarsi, infine, nella città di Venezia nel 997. Quivi si distinse in modo che innanzi la serrata del Maggior Consiglio, precisamente nel 1290, fu annoverata fra le famiglie patrizie. Ha dato essa alla Repubblica: procuratori di San Marco, membri del Consiglio dei Dieci, senatori, cavalieri, governatori e gran duchi di Candia. Celebre su tutti l'ammiraglio Angelo Emo, vincitore delle armi barbaresche a Tunisi e a Sfax nonché inventore delle batterie galleggianti. Con Sovrana Risoluzione 26 dicembre 1891, la famiglia Emo ha ricevuto il titolo di conte dell'Impero Austriaco.
