Tuvo su primitiva casa solar este noble linaje en el Concejo de Laviana (Asturias), al que perteneció Ruy de E., que estuvo en las conquistas de Andalucía por los años de 1234 y tomó parte en el sitio de Sevilla. El Rey Don Alfonso X le heredó con varias tierras. En el reinado de Don Alonso XI floreció Lope de E., y en tiempos de Don Pedro I el Cruel, se distinguieron como valerosos Capitanes Pero Allende de E. y Salvador Ruiz de E. El primero de ellos, Lope Allende de E., pasó dos veces al reino de Aragón y fué muerto por los partidarios de Don Enrique. Al servicio de Don Juan II de Castilla estuvieron Fernando de E. y Pedro Fernández de E., que fueron armados caballeros de la Espuela de Oro. En tiempo del Emperador Carlos V fué Capitán de Corazas Juan de E., que se distinguió en las guerras de Italia y de Flandes y era hijo del noble Juan Ignacio de E., que había servido en toda la guerra de Granada. También pertenecía a este linaje Juan de E. y Díez, del Consejo de Su Majestad Don Felipe III, en el de Guerra, y Antonio de E. y Norzagaray, que sirvió a Don Felipe IV, en las guerras de su tiempo. Murió siendo Castellano de Pamplona. De la misma casa asturiana procedió Antonio de E., que contrajo matrimonio con doña Josefa Díaz de Argüelles, natural de Asturias, que casó con doña Bárbara Chenard y Galisteo, natural de la Habana, y procrearon a Juan Nepomuceno, Dolores, Manuel, Francisco, Domingo, Bárbara, Ricardo, Enrique, Serafina, Emilia y Carlota de E. y Chenard. ...
