Antica famiglia che godette nobiltà in Caltagirone dove troviamo un Vitale, un Bernardo, un Perrello, un Carlo con la carica di giurato rispettivamente negli anni 1360, 1400, 1415, 1437 e dove possedette (1535) i feudi di Imbaccari e Sortavilla per successione a casa Landolina. Si trova pure in Messina (1599) in persona di un cavaliere di Malta Francesco Falandra. Non sappiamo se sia appartenuto a questa famiglia quel Samuele che, con Regio Decreto 21 aprile 1854, ottenne la concessione del titolo di barone di Roccolino. Altro ramo. Andrea Falandra, nella prima metà del secolo XVI a servigio della Repubblica Veneta; Francesco Falandra ambasciatore al Pontefice Sisto V. Altra famiglia alzò per arma.
