Antica e notabile famiglia veneta, oriunda da Bassano, di chiara ed avita virtù, conosciuta come Ferracin, Ferracini o Ferracino, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia, con maggiori insediamenti in territorio lombardo. L'origine di tal cognominizzazione va ricercata in una modificazione, anche dialettale, del personale medioevale "Ferracinus", appartenuto, probabilmente, ad un, oggi ignoto, capostipite. Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, tal famiglia ebbe un attivo ruolo nel finanziamento alla guerra di Candia e pertanto ricevette in cambio prestigio e terreni.
