Tuvo su casa solar en el lugar de El Ferrero (cuyo nombre tomó), del Concejo de Gozón y partido judicial de Avilés (Oviedo). En el año de 1595 poseía la Casa y Torre de El Ferrero Pedro García del F., que en el mismo año la vendió a Rodrigo Valdés. En el lugar de Cabojo, del Ayuntamiento de Abadín (Lugo), moró otra familia que se apellidó F. o Fernández de F. De ella fué García F., que contrajo matrimonio con doña Sancha de la Ferrera. Estos esposo fueron considerados siempre como hijosdalgo pagando los maravedís que le correspondían cuando las guerras entre Castilla, Aragón y Navarra. Ellos y sus descendientes gozaron siempre de todas las honras, franquezas, exenciones, y libertades de los demás hijosdalgo. García F. y su esposa doña Sancha de la F. tuvieron por hijo a Pedro García F., esposo de doña María García y ambos padres de García Fernández F., que fué vecino de Pozuelo y ganó ejecutoria de hidalguía en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid el 15 de Diciembre de 1481. También hay en España una famlia del apellido F. distinta de esas de Asturias y Galicia. Esta es originaria de Italia. Víctor F. Fiesco, Príncipe italiano de Maseranoa, y su esposa doña María Irene Caraciolo, natural de Nápoles, pasaron a España y radicaron en Madrid. Fueron padres de Felipe Victorio F.
