Bernardino di Mariotto fu nel 1506 inviato dalla Comunità di Arezzo ambasciatore alla Repubblica di Firenze; nel 1530 ebbe uguale incarico presso Carlo V; nell'anno seguente fu dei Priori di Arezzo. Esercitò la carica di fiscale negli Stati pontifici. Suo figlio Mario fu auditore nello Stato della Chiesa, governatore di Recanati e di Osimo; gonfaloniere di Arezzo nel 1573. Il figlio di Mario, Volunnio, venne nel 1576 nominato ambasciatore residente a Firenze. Furono ascritti al patriziato aretino con decreto del 5 aprile 1756.
