La nobilissima e vetusta famiglia dei Forcoli, la cui origine affonda le proprie radici nella feconda terra di Toscana, si distinse per secoli nella città di Pisa, ove stabilì la propria dimora e illustrò il nome suo con opere degne di memoria. Di stirpe antica e di sangue illustre, essa si segnalò per l'integrità dei costumi, la rettitudine degli animi e la fedeltà incrollabile verso la patria.
