Este linaje procede de Francia. Pasó a Aragón, donde se extendió mucho, fundando casa en la villa de Bureta, del partido judicial de Borja, de la que dimanaron las de Zaragoza y otras poblaciones de Aragón y la de Tudela (Navarra). En la Rioja hubo también casa en la villa de Briones, del partido judicial de Haro, y al pasar el linaje a Castilla fundó otro solar en la villa de Paredes de Navas, del partido judicial de Frechilla (Palencia). Otra casa radicó en Medina de Pomar (Burgos) y otra en Galicia. Una de los primeros caballeros de quien se tiene noticia es Mícer Arnaldo de F., ciudadano muy distinguido de Zaragoza, Jurisperito y Lugarteniente de la Corte del Justicia de Aragón. Floreció, según opinión de Pedro Vitales y de Latassa, en 1347, y fué enviado por los de la Unión de Aragón, para tratar con los de la Unión de Valencia. Figuró en el Consejo del Rey don Pedro IV de Aragón. Siguió la causa del Infante don Fernando de Aragón, hijo del Rey don Alonso IV, y por ello fué muy perseguido por el Monarca don Pedro IV. Dicha persecución le obligó a refugiarse en Castilla con la Reina doña Leonor, madre del citado Infante don Fernando. Más tarde pasó a Navarra. Fué padre, entre otros, de Arnaldo de F., que sirvió también al Infante don Fernando, Marqués de Tortosa, siendo igualmente perseguido en 1348, por Pedro IV. Estando en 1364 con la Infante doña María de Portugal, mujer que había sido del dicho Infante, cayó preso en unión de la citada señora. ...
