Altra famiglia distinta dalla omonima che fioriva fino dal 1260, trovandosi in tal anno Giliotti di Baliotto Girolami tra le file guelfe alla battaglia dell'Arbia. Dette alla Repubblica quattro gonfalonieri e tredici priori tra il 1296 e il 1529. Si divise nel secolo XIV in due rami, il primo dei quali, cui appartenne Zanobi di Zanoli famoso legista e senatore, si estinte nel 1664. Dal secondo ramo fu Francesco ambasciatore a Giulio II nel 1502. Raffaello commissario a Poggibonsi; Giovanni Arcivescovo creato Paolo III; altro Raffaello Arcivescovo di Damiata nel 1728 e Cardinale nel 1743. Oggi non si hanno più notizie di questa famiglia. Blasone della famiglia Girolami o «Girolami del Vescovo» in Firenze, Santa Croce, Carro; fonte: "Raccolta Ceramelli Papiani" custodita presso l'archivio di stato di Firenze fasc.2404. Note: Nel Sepoltuario Rosselli lo stemma si trova partito con l'arma della famiglia Covoni (Badia fiorentina, Zanobi Girolami e Cassandra Covoni, sec.XVI). La mitria allude alla presunta appartenenza alla famiglia di san Zanobi, vescovo fiorentino del IV secolo. Nelle Filze di giustificazioni per l'ammissione al patriziato fiorentino di Pietro Zanobi Girolami, 1751, sotto la mitria si trova una croce di Santo Stefano: il richiedente era infatti balì dell'Ordine di Santo Stefano. Ultimo della famiglia, egli lasciò eredi i nipoti, figli di Pier Francesco Covoni.
