Ancient and noble Spanish family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread over the centuries, with a main branch in Mexico. Originally from Vizcaya, more precisely from the barrio of Ibarrondo, in the Ceberio Council and Durango judicial district, this noble House descend from the priest Iñaki Ibarrondo, founder of the village Ibarra (1347), located in the municipality of Orozco. Following the request of the noble Vizcaíno don Luis de Ibarrondo, in favour of his father Don Antonio de Ibarrondo, this family was recognized as an ancient and pure noble lineage of Vizcaya and therefore were granted to it all the privileges and honours associated with the status of Noble Hidalgos of Vizcaya, based on the documents presented on November 18, 1716, in Valladolid.
