Famille que l'on dit originaire du pays d'Auvergne, et avoir pris son nom au château d'Irrissac, audit pays. Ce que nous savons, c'est que noble Vincent était, en 1452, notaire au bourg de saint-Agrève. Il vivait encore lors du mariage de sa fille, en 1471, mais, dès 1486, sa femme est qualifiée veuve. Il avait épousé noble damoiselle Philippe de Crossolier, qui testa, étant veuve, le 15 novembre 1486. de leur mariage nacquit Catherine, qui fut leur donataire universelle et épousa, par contrat du 115 janvier 1470, noble Bernard de Clavières, fils de noble Vital de Clavières de la Chaise-Dieu, au diocèse de Clermont et de Catherine de La Borie. Elle porta à ce gentilhomme tous le biens de sa famille; et celui-ci, qui fut le premier de sa famille établi à saint-Agrève, fit sans doute construire le château de Clavières, à moins qu'il ne donna son nom à l'ancienne demeure Irrissac. ...
