Nobility crown LanzilottaAntica ed illustre famiglia del Regno delle Due Sicilie, di chiara ed avita virtù, conosciuta come Lancelotti, Lancellotti, Lancillotti, Lanzilotta; lancillotto o Lanzarotto, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia e del Mondo. Come ben giusta il commendatore Gio. Battista di Crollalanza, nel suo monumentale "Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti", ubblicata a Pisa nel 1886 in tre volumi, questa nobile casata era originaria della Francia. Dalla sua patria si portò in Sicilia nell'anno 1260, al tempo del re Manfredi, con un Lancillottto, virtuoso cavaliere, che divenne governatore della città di Trapani. Ebbe essa le signorie di Rabici e di Sanaggia con titolo baronale e fiorì in Salemi e in Mazzara; diversi rami si insediarono anche in Calabria, in Puglia ed in Campania.
