Antica ed illustre famiglia. Un Nicolò, il quale era oriundo di Calais, seguì Margherita de Foix, destinata sposa al marchese di Saluzzo, e fu nominato verso il 1490 capitano nel Castello di Revello. Suo figlio Magno, capitano di milizie, ebbe, fra gli altri, Nicolò, che fu podestà di Revello, ed il cui figlio, pur esso Magno, consegnò nel 1614 l'arma gentilizia cogli agnati. Il notaio, Domenico, che era figlio dell'alfiere Marco Antonio, consegnò l'arma il 14 febbraio 1687. Fu costui ucciso dai Francesi il 13 novembre 1693, nel sacco di Revello. Da lui nacque Domenico (nato 1681, decaduto 1743), il quale procreò Domenico Enrico (nato 1714, decaduto 29 gennaio 1792), che fu infeudato di Costigliole il 3 maggio 1780 e investito in data 11 marzo col titolo comitale per se e per il fratello Giambattista.
