Era hijo de Antonio Gonzales Boza, el primero que de Portugal vino a Tenerife y nieto de Gonzalo Boza de L. El primero llamado a la posesión de dicho Mayorazgo, fue Don Jerónimo Boza de L., hijo de Domingo y de Magdalena Rodríguez Vélez, nacido en La Laguna y bautizado en los Remedios el 8 de febrero de 1585, Capitán de Artillería del puerto de Santa casó en 1604 con Doña Luisa de Anchieta Machado y Becerril, descendiente de los más nobles Conquistadores de la Isla, y padre en ella de Doña Marcelina Boza de L.
