Francesco I d'Austria, il quale con sovrana risoluzione del 17 ott. 1819 gli conferì la nobiltà austriaca, consentendo l'anno appresso che nel diploma di concessione fosse aggiunto il predicato d'Intignano, villaggio sul Lago di Como donde trasse origine la fam. In seguito alla detta concessione ottenne che il suo stemma, descritto e delineato nel diploma, venisse inserito nel Codice Araldico per decreto dell'I.R. Commissione Araldica del 15 aprile 1822. Fu membro di varie accademie, possedeva un museo archeologico ed una pinacoteca molto pregiati e nella sua casa riceveva ed ospitava uomini di stato ed artisti.
