Ancienne famille originaire d’Auvergne. On trouve sous ce nom: Radegonde abbesse du noble chapitre de Blesle (1574-1584). Cette dame était issue d'une maison possessionnée dans la Marche et en Berry, dont les membres se qualifiaient de seigneurs de Puyguillon, de Pierrefolle, de Parnac, de Beaugenet, de Fins, etc. et qui entre autres illustrations compte plusieurs officiers supérieurs. Elle ne doit pas être confondue avec plusieurs maisons chevaleresques du même nom, connues en Auvergne, Bourbonnais, Limousin et Bourgogne, encore moins avec celle du fameux Thomas qui, en 1360, surprit et pilla le château de St-llpize. Ce dernier portait: Burelé d’argent et d'azur (qui est de la Marche), au franc-quartier d'azur semé de France, et était un bâtard du roi Philippe VI.
