Nobility crown MauleónTiene origen francés este apellido. Su solar radicó en la ciudad de Mauleón-Soule, capital de cantón y de distrito en los Bajos Pirineos, de la que acaso tomara el nombre. Sus caballeros vinieron a España, estableciéndose en Navarra y Cataluña, desde donde fueron a Valencia, con motivo de su conquista. Una de las casas navarras que los aludidos caballeros franceses fundaron, radicó en la villa de Traibuenas, del Ayuntamiento de Murillo el Cuende y partido judicial de Tafalla.
