Nobility crown NassisiFamiglia originaria della Grecia, come evincesi dalla sua cognominizzazione, dal greco "na ziseis" (= che tu possa vivere a lungo), passata in Puglia, nel XV secolo e, successivamente, propagatasi in diverse regioni d'Italia. Tal casato, probabilmente, venne innalzato al grado di cavaliere, in seguito alla battaglia di Bitonto, combattuta il 25 maggio 1734, dal momento che sotto i vessilli Borbonici militarono alcuni membri della famiglia Nassisi, tra cui un Antonio, nominato quale cavaliere in un atto notarile del successivo anno. Tuttavia, sin dal XV secolo, la famiglia sempre si distinse per gli illustri personaggi, a cui diede i natali. Tra questi, ricordiamo: Andrea, dottore in "utroque jure", vivente in Bari, nel 1499; Michele, dottore in Sacra Teologia, vivente in Bari, nel 1523; Cristoforo, chiaro giureconsulto e saggista, vivente in Bitonto, nel 1592; D. Dionigi, Canonico e Pronotario Apostolico, vivente in Salerno, nel 1621; Filippo, dell'Ordine dei Predicatori, lettore di Filosofia, ...
