Procede de Vizcaya este apellido. Es probable que tomara su nombre (o se lo diera) del barrio de Ortúzar, perteneciente al Ayuntamiento de Izurza y partido judicial de Durango. En este partido tuvo casa solar en la anteiglesia de Ceánuri. Otra radicó en la villa de Luno, del partido judicial de Guernica. Una de sus ramas pasó a la Rioja, morando en la ciudad de Nájera y en las villas de Villar de la Torre, Tirgo y de Leiva. De la casa de la anteiglesia de Ceánuri, fué descendiente Juan de O. y Orbezúa, que en su mujer doña María de Orúe, tuvo a Juan de O. Orúe, natural y vecino de Ceánuri, y marido de doña María de Gortázar, a la que hizo madre de Gabriel de O. y Gortázar, bautizado en Ceánuri el 4 de Noviembre de 1690, que casó con doña Catalina Aranguren y procrearon a Francisco de O. Aranguren, bautizado en Ceánuri el 4 de Julio de 1717, que contrajo matrimonio con doña María de Mendía, naciendo de esta unión Francisco de O. y Mendía, bautizado en Ceánuri el 16 de Octubre de 1774. Fué vecino de Medina del Campo (Valladolid), y para avecindarse en esa villa obtuvo provisión de vizcainía en la Chancillería de Valladolid el 22 de Noviembre de 1796. De la misma casa de la anteiglesia de Ceánuri, procedió Martín de O. y Orbezúa, natural de Ceánuri y hermano de Juan de O. y Orbezúa. Este Martín ganó Real provisión de hidalguía en el año de 1686. Casó con doña Bernarda de Escoriaza, nacida también en Ceánuri, y pasaron a radicar en la ciudad de Nájera (Logroño). ...
