Las referencias de esta familia parecen precisarse con más frecuencia desde el siglo XV al XIX en especial los hechos de la escolta que acompañó al futuro rey D. Felipe, hijo de Carlos I (V de Alemania), de la Coruña a Southampton el 20 de Julio de 1554 para la celebración de su boda con la poco agraciada Doña Maria Tudor, llamada la sanguinaria, reina de Inglaterra e hija de Enrique VIII.
