Antica ed assai illustre famiglia lombarda, la quale, al dir di autorevoli genealogisti, discenderebbe dal nobile casato dei Pedrazzi, oriundo da Pontevedra, in Spagna, detta Pedrazzini, propagatosi in Lombardia sin dal XIV secolo secolo e passato, il secolo seguente, a risiedere in Padova, al cui nobile Consiglio fu ammesso. In ogni modo, la famiglia Pedrazzini, secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, venne ammessa agli onori ed ai privilegi del patriziato veneto, verosimilmente, per benemerenze acquistate nella guerra di Candia ed in seguito all'elargizione di mille ducati.
