Comunque le prime certe notizie di questa casata risalgono al 1° maggio 1244 in Pavia e in un atto di liberazione rinunzia fra Morello e Gilio de' Giorgi, ove sono menzionati Alberto e Lafranco de Podio di Mornico, i quali figurano anche in altro atto di divisione fra i Giorgi, atto rogato da Lafranco de Torricella l'11 gennaio 1256. In altro istrumento 23 maggio 1358 i fratelli Albrico (detto Pellato), Lafranco e Giacomo, del qm. Goffredo, abitanti in Pinerolo Oltre Po Pavese, confessano verso Guglielmo de' Mezzabarbi, istrumento rogato dal notaro Tomeino de Magnano.
