Nobility crown PostiglioneAntica ed illustre famiglia spagnola, originariamente detta Postillón, un cui ramo, al seguito dei re aragonesi, giunse in Italia, stabilendosi, primieramente, nel Regno di Napoli e, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. L'origine dell'attuale cognominizzazione, d'altronde, va ricercata proprio in una modificazione, dovuta a variazioni di fonetica dialettale e/o ad errori di tradizione manoscritta, dell'originario "Postillón". Tuttavia, per amor di verità ed onor di completezza, non possiamo tacere come alcuni ritengano che la primissima origine del casato vada ricercata nell'omonimo castello, in provincia di Salerno, la cui costruzione (sec. XI) si fa risalire all'epoca di Guglielmo di Postiglione, primo feudatario di queste terre. Pertanto, alla luce di quanto detto, è assai probabile che la famiglia, sorta in ambito campano, si sia trasferita, non sappiamo per quali ragioni, in terra spagnola, per poi far ritorno nei luoghi natii, come sopra riportato.
