Nobility crown PozzaniAntica ed assai nobile famiglia piemontese, oriunda da Omegna, la quale passò a risedere in Casale Monferrato, sul finire del secolo decimo sesto, ed ivi esercitò il commercio dei ferrami, traendone grandi ricchezze. Originariamente conosciuta come Gozzani, questa casata risulta essersi divisa in numerosi rami, alcuni dei quali subirono modifiche alla propria cognominizzazione; tra questi vi è quello dei Pozzani. Il ramo originario fu rappresentato da Giovanni che, nel 1670, acquistò il feudo di S. Giorgio e nel 1673 quello di Odalengo-il-grande. I suoi discendenti acquistarono poi Odalengo-il-piccolo, Treville, Olmo, Perletto e Pontestura, sempre con titolo marchionale. Il ramo propriamente detto Pozzani, invece, si distinse soprattutto per aver dato i natali a personaggi illustri nell'esercizio delle professioni liberali, militari e nelle carriere ecclesiastiche. Ricordiamo, a tal proposito: Giacomo, dottore in "utroque jure", fiorente in Casale, nel 1589; Camillo, medico piemontese, fiorente nel 1612; Leone, notaio in Torino, fiorente nel 1636; ...
