En dicho partido, y más concretamente en su Valle de Somorrostro, radicó la antigua e hidalga familia P., a la que pertenecía en principios del siglo XVII Pedro de P., natural del Valle de Somorrostro, que casó con doña María del Muente, de la misma naturaleza, y fueron padres de Martín de P., natural del Valle de Somorrostro, que contrajo matrimonio con doña María Menderichaga, de igual naturaleza (hija de Pascual Menderichaga y de doña Inés de Uguegón, naturales del Valle de Somorrostro), naciendo de esa unión: Martín de P.
