Dos casas solariegas de este apellido hubo en la Montaña de Santander: una en el lugar de Queveda, y otra en el de Viveda, ambos del Ayuntamiento de Santillana y partido judicial de Torrelavega. En el expediente de pruebas de nobleza del Caballero de la Orden de Alcántara, don Luis Sánchez de Table y la R., nacido en Santillana en 1642, se dice que la casa del lugar de Queveda era la más antigua. De ella era Señor en principios del siglo XVII Francisco de la R., marido de doña Ana Fernández Pelilla, y ambos padres de Francisco de la R. Cosio, que sigue, Pedro de la R., y Juan de la R., monje de San Benito. Francisco de la R. Cosío fué el mayorazgo y testó en 1684. Había casado con doña María de Quijano y Bustamante, en quien tuvo estos hijos Francisco de la R. Quijano, que sigue, Catalina Manuela, casada en Hinojedo con Francisco Díaz de Chacho Ceballos, y El Licenciado José de la R. Quijano, Caballero de Calatrava. Su expediente no figura en el Indice impreso de esa Orden. Francisco de la R. Quijano nació en Queveda, sucedió en el mayorazgo de su casa y contrajo matrimonio con doña Francisca Jacinta Díaz de Barreda, natural de Santillana, naciendo de esa unión María Rosa de la R. y Díaz de Barreda, mayorazga y mujer de Francisco Manuel de Polanco, Señor de la casa de Polanco, en Suances, y Escolástica de la R. y Díaz de Barreda. ...
