Linaje de Guipúzcoa con casas solares en la villa de Motrico, del partido judicial de Vergara, y en la de Guetaria, del partido de Azpéitia. A la casa de la villa de Motrico pertenecía en el primer tercio del siglo XVI Miguel de R., marido de doña María Ibáñez de la Torre Astigarribia, ambos naturales y vecinos de Motrico y padres de Martín Iñiguez de R., que sigue, María y Francisca, bautizadas en Motrico en 1549 y 1555, respectivamente. Martín Iñiguez de R. nació en Motrico siendo bautizado en su parroquia el 8 de Febrero de 1551. Fué en dicha villa Regidor del Ayuntamiento en 1612, Alcalde en 1614, 1618 y 1621 y Mayordomo de la iglesia en 1615 y 1619. Casó con doña María Ruiz de Vidarzábal y procrearon a Martín Ruiz de R., bautizado en Motrico el 31 de Octubre de 1580 y Regidor de su Ayuntamiento desde 1627 a 1632. En su mujer, doña María Esteban de Aguirre Iturriza, tuvo este hijo Miguel de R. Aguirre, bautizado en Motrico el 2 de Febrero de 1609, que pasó a residir en La Habana y fué Alcalde de esta ciudad en 1644. Falleció allí el 3 de Mayo de 1655 bajo testamento otorgado el 4 de Febrero de 1651, ante el Escribano Francisco Hidalgo, y recibió sepultura en la iglesia de San Agustín de la capital de Cuba. Había casado en La Habana, el 5 de Julio de 1640, con doña Leonor Márquez Morta, de la misma naturaleza, naciendo de esa unión Miguel de R. Márquez, Beatriz, Damián, Juan y Martín, todos naturales de La Habana. ...
