Nel 1580, Giampietro, figlio di Bernardino, consegnò l’arma gentilizia, e suo figlio Sebastiano fu insignito della carica di gentiluomo di bocca di Sua Maestà. Da questa illustre stirpe si originarono due distinte linee: quella dei Conti di San Raffaele e quella dei Conti di Varigliè. Alla prima appartenne Baldassarre, il quale ricoprì le alte cariche di Sindaco di Chieri e Commissario Generale dell’Artiglieria; egli acquistò dai Calori una metà del feudo di San Raffaele, ricevendone contestualmente l’investitura comitale. Questo ramo si estinse con Benvenuto, riformatore dell’Università e autore di numerose opere a stampa. Della seconda linea si ricorda Maurizio, Maresciallo della Corte Ducale e Mastro di Cerimonie, infeudato di Montemarzo con titolo comitale.
