Nobility crown SaraleguiLa esclarecida y antigua Casa de Saralegui, también conocida por el nombre de Zizartegui, tuvo su origen en la noble villa de Amézqueta, perteneciente al partido de Tolosa, en las tierras de Guipúzcoa. De tan ilustre solar partieron algunos de sus descendientes hacia el Reino de Navarra, donde, en el año del Señor de 1777, fueron reconocidos como hidalgos notorios por la Real Audiencia de la ciudad de Pamplona los señores Miguel, Juan, Joaquín y Martín de Saralegui, junto con sus hijos y sobrinos, tras haber probado con legítimos testimonios y documentos su linaje y procedencia del mencionado y venerable solar de Amézqueta. Algunos autores de crédito sostienen que esta estirpe pudiera tener su más remoto origen en la fértil y montañosa tierra del Valle de Baztán, en Navarra, y que acaso su sangre se halle emparentada con la augusta Casa de los Señores de Contrasta, en la villa de Gauna, en la provincia de Álava, lo cual no desdice de su nobleza, antes bien la ennoblece aún más.
