Very ancient and illustrious Italian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. This House belongs to the noble Council of Rovigo since January 10, 1623 and was confirmed in its ancient nobility with Sovereign Resolution July 8, 1820. The Sasso family is in the Italian Noble Official List with the title of noble of Rovigo) (mf.), in the person of Nicolò, of Romualdo (1841). But the Sasso were declared nobles in many Italian cities and also in Spain. Indeed, this family is remembered in Ravenna, Forlì, Scala, Naples, Caserta, Amalfi, Nocera, Ravello, Bitonto and Giovinazzo. In Scala it has been among the patrician families since the 12th century and is said to have come from Ravenna and therefore belonged to it San Romualdo, the founder of the Camaldolese Order. Another branch of the family moved to Ravello and was admitted to the local patriciate. ...
