Essa discende per diretta linea del magnifico Giovanni, quondam Angelino, ricordato nella cronaca di Chiavari nel libro VI nel quale si legge, che nel 1383 Giovanni, armato di una galea, fece parte della flotta genovese comandata da Nicolò Maruffo, che portò il re Lusignano in Cipro.
