Le fief et château de Senesclause, à deux portées de fusil de Saint-Agrève, aujourd'hui résidence de la famille de Chalendar, fut le berceau de cette famille que nous y voyons installée dès le XIVème siècle et qui lui emprunta son nom. Vital en rendit hommage, en 1401, au vicomte de Polignac, seigneur de la baronnie de Saint-Agrève: hommage rencuvelé, en 1471, par Jacques de Senesclause pour une moitié, et par Pons et Pierre de Senesclause pour l'autre moitié. Ce noble Pierre ayant, vers 1470, épousé Garine de Truchet, héritière de sa maison et dame de Truchet et de Chambarlhac, leurs descendants sae substituèrent au nom de Truchet. Mais les descendants de Pons et de Jacques continuèrent à être connus sous le nom de Senesclauze à Saint-Agrève. En 1546, Pons rendit hommage aux coseigneurs de Saint-Agrève pour ce qu'il y possédait. ...
