Este apellido es muy antiguo en Cataluña y principalmente en su provincia de Gerona. Parece que tuvo su origen en el lugar de Solíus (cuyo nombre tomara), perteneciente al ayuntamiento de Santa Cristina de Aro, del partido judicial de La Bisbal, en aquella provincia. Fundó casa solar en el lugar de Finestres, del ayuntamiento de Sant Aniol de Finestres y partido judicial de Olot, también de la provincia de Gerona. Son sus armas: en campo de azur, una cruz de oro. Así se ven en una sepultura de los S., que data del año 1344, en el claustro del monasterio de Banyoles.
