Fu di questa famiglia Pietro Paolo, (nato a Novara, 8 dicembre 1796; deced. a Torino, 10 luglio 1878), di Antonio, che, esulato nelle Indie, avendo reso grandi servigi militari ad Alessandro nababbo di Sirdanach, ne ebbe in sposa (1831) la figlia Giorgiana Dyce Sombre (nata a Sirdanach; deced. a Torino,1867). Ritornato in patria, il Re Carlo Alberto lo nominò colonnello del genio. Prevenne in seguito al grado di tenente generale e fu dal Re nominato suo aiutante di campo. Ottenne una medaglia d'oro al valore, e fu deputato al Parlamento nazionale nella IV e VII legislatura. Il 23 aprile 1844 fu creato barone, il 9 giugno 1867 marchese di Briona e il 25 novembre di detto anno ebbe concessione di stemma.
