Antica famiglia veneta, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la famiglia ha comune agnazione con i nobili Tana di Chieri. Entrambe dunque rimontano a quell'Olrico Tana, originario di Germania, che giunse nel Nord Italia nel 1155, accompagnando l'Imperatore Federico I. Tale Olrico fissò la sua dimora in Chieri ma i suoi discendenti diedero vita ad altri rami della famiglia che, per distinguersi, mutarono parzialmente il cognome. Si è dunque concordi nel ritenere i Tanase la diramazione veneta dei Tana, dei quali conservano l'arme che così si descrive: "Spaccato d'azzurro e d'oro, a sei stelle, ordinate tre sul primo, in fascia, tre sul secondo, 2 e 1, dell'uno nell'altro". ...
