In data 8 maggio 1855, l’imperatore d’Austria Francesco Giuseppe si compiacque di concedere, mediante diploma imperiale, a Gabriele Taussig, di Lazzaro, il titolo ereditario di cavaliere dell’impero Austriaco, con il predicato di Bodonia destinato a tutti i discendenti maschi. La dignità del titolo venne successivamente riconosciuta, con Decreto Ministeriale del 14 agosto 1909, a Leopoldo Teodoro Taussig, figlio del predetto Gabriele e di Luigia Cantù di Giuseppe, così confermando la continuità della linea e la legittimità della successione. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia attestata della famiglia rappresenta sicuro indice dell’antica nobiltà conseguita dalla casata, la cui memoria si perpetua nello stemma e nei fasti araldici.
