On la retrouve à différentes époques, en divers localités et il y a eu nombreux personnages illustres de ce nom. On signale les personnages dignes de mémoire: Eon, dit le Fier, priseur dans un échange entre le Duc et Brient de Châteaugiron en 1316 et l'un des rédacteurs en 1330 de la très ancienne coutume, imprimée pour la première fois en 1484; Nicolas, abbé de Saint-Melaine en 1328; Raoul évêque de Rennes en 1364, mort en 1383; Michel et Nicolas, abbés de la Chaume en 1328 et 1446; Jacques, chevalier de l'ordre en 1600. La branche aînée fondue en 1500 dans Sévïgné; la branche de Beaubois fondue en 1610 dans Névet.
