La famiglia Turletti, talvolta trascritta anche come Turleti e, in rarissime circostanze, come Furletti, verosimilmente per mero errore di scrittura, rappresenta un antico e illustre lignaggio del Regno di Sardegna, i cui rami si diramano nelle regioni del Piemonte, della Liguria e della Sardegna stessa. Un ramo di tale casato si congiunse per alleanza matrimoniale con la nobile stirpe dei Tola, assumendo così la denominazione di Turletti Tola. I prolungati e solerti servigi resi da Pietro Turletti sin dall’anno 1774, in virtù dei quali Sua Maestà Vittorio Amedeo III si degnò, con Regie Lettere Patenti in data 13 dicembre 1703, di conferirgli il grado di commissario di guerra, e in particolare quelli prestati a partire dal maggio 1794, allorché fu investito dell’Ufficio del Soldo nel Regno di Sardegna, indussero il Re Carlo Emanuele IV a concedergli, con diplomi datati 26 agosto 1799, i titoli di cavalierato e di nobiltà, trasmissibili ai figli e discendenti maschi.
