Nobility crown TurraAntica ed assai nobile famiglia di Reggio-Emilia, conosciuta come Turri o Turra, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia continentale ed insulare e d'Europa. Essa è invero originaria di Castelnuovo di Garfagnana ma fu portata in Reggio da Pellegrino Turra, di Giuseppe, il quale fu a quella nobiltà ascritto. I rami rimasti in Castelnuovo, discendenti da Lorenzo e Jacopo Turra, furono invece nel XV secolo ascritti alla nobiltà di Lucca. Molti poi gli illustri personaggi che a tal famiglia hanno dato lustro, distinguendosi nell'occupazione delle più alte cariche e godendo sempre i massimi onori. Ricordiamo: Benedetto-Giuseppe Turra che, dopo aver sostenuto l'ufficio di commissario di Bardi, di Val di Taro, di Castello Arquato e di Corte Maggiore nel Parmigiano dal 1696 al 1712, nel 1713 fu creato podestà di Sassuolo, poi di Scandiano, di Nonantola e del Finale; Tommaso Turra, dottore in l'una ...
