Nobility crown VaccanoAntica ed illustre famiglia originaria di Gorizia. Francesco-Massimiliano Vescovo di Trieste dal 1662 al 1672. Questa nobile famiglia, come rilevasi dal Giovan-Pietro Crescenzi Romani , nella sua "Corona della Nobiltà d'Italia, ovvero compendio delle istorie delle famiglie illustri", stampato in Bologna dal Tebaldini, vuolsi originaria del Piemonte, onde apprese le alte cariche e titoli che ella possedette in varie città. Assai contese furono le notizie della sua origine ed il Crollalanza nel suo Annuario della Nobiltà Italiana (anno 1889), riferisce che gli studi più moderni intorno a questa casata hanno singolarmente modificate le opinioni invalse dietro la lettura degli storici friulani antichi. Lo storico Nicolò Monticoli nella sua opera Annali di Udine e delle genti del Friuli espone che a prima del cinquecento non esisteva una vera classe nobile, c'erano bensì delle famiglie nobili, che si vantavano tali per la loro origine feudale, altre perché già nobili nei loro paesi ...
