Nobility crown VecchioAntica ed assai nobile famiglia, la quale risulta della stessa agnazione della nobile famiglia senese, passata nel Regno di Napoli, nel XVI secolo, come appare dalle prove fatte, nel 1804, dal cavaliere Gerosolimitano Ferdinando, per essere ammesso ai Reali Baciamano. Le prime memorie relative ad essa si rinvengono nel salernitano, ossia in Prignano Cilento, con Gerolamo che, seguendo la fortuna del duca Tristaven, come riferisce il Beltrano nella "Descrizione del Regno di Napoli", nello scritto di Michele Paleologo, imperatore di Costantinopoli, per le sue prodezze guerresche ebbe concesse molte grazie e gradi di nobiltà, come si legge in un privilegio del 3 aprile 1923, dato in Costantinopoli. Un ramo del casato passò in Lucera, ove fu ascritto a quella nobiltà e fu pure ricevuto, per giustizia, nel S.M. Ordine di Malta, nel 1767, come quarto della famiglia Primicile Carafa.
