Di tale illustre stirpe si ricorda, con particolare menzione, un certo Matteo, il quale, con regio privilegio datato 9 giugno 1770, ottenne la concessione della Tonnara di Tre Fontane in Mazzara, della quale, in seguito, il dì 6 gennaio 1771, fu solennemente investito Stefano, dottore in leggi e figlio del predetto Matteo. La medesima famiglia risulta altresì iscritta, in forma generica, nell’Elenco Ufficiale della Nobiltà Italiana dell’anno 1922, fregiata del titolo di Signore della Tonnara di Tre Fontane (mpr.), riconosciuto in persona dell’ultimo investito Stefano, secondo quanto attestato dalla data sovraindicata. La memoria e la genealogia di questa nobile casata trovano autorevole menzione nel "Nobiliario di Sicilia" compilato da Antonio Mango di Casalgerardo, edito in Palermo presso A.
