Molti di essa coprirono eminenti cariche nella Repubblica di Genova. Ugo ed Ansaldo furono tra i firmatori della pace conclusa tra genovesi e pisani; Enrico firmò quella con Savona nel 1333 e Gabriele intervenne al giuramento di fedeltà prestato dai genovesi al Duca di Milano nel 1488. Un ramo di questa famiglia, in seguito alla congiura dei Fieschi, nel 1550. dovette esulare negli Stati del Duca di Savoia.
