Nobility crown Vitali (Italia)Ancient and very noble family, originally from Parma, settled in Mondovì since 1258. A Rubeo, or Rosso Vitali, in document dated 1298, appears to have already belonged to the Credenza of the Mondovì town hall. He was succeeded in this office in 1342 by a Lorenzo Vitali, who, in the same year, swore allegiance to the Duke of Savoy. From the latter came the brothers Lodovico, Sebastiano and Giovanni-Francesco, sons of Bartolomeo, of whom the first two formed two flowery lines in the city of Cuneo, and the third that of Mondovì. Of this line Jacobin, captain of horses, in 1536 was appointed governor of Villanova; Ippolito was mayor of Mondovì in 1535; Jerome, horse captain, in 1572 obtained confirmation of his ancient nobility from Duke Emanuele-Filiberto; Giacomo, professor of philosophy at the University of Mondovì, prior in 1592; Lodovico, his brother, prof. of laws at the University of Turin; ...
