Nobility crown VitaliAntica ed assai nobile famiglia marchigiana, originaria di Petritoli ma con dimora anche in Fermo, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La tradizione vuole che le prime tracce araldiche lasciate dai Vitali si trovino già nell'anno mille in quel della piana di Trapani. Si narra che essi avessero discendenza normanna e vichinga; sicuramente commerciavano con il Medio Oriente ed in Sicilia rimasero sino a quando non furono cacciati da Filippo il Bello, in quanto Templari. In ogni modo, come ben riferisce Vittorio Spreti nella sua pregevole "Enciclopedia storico-nobiliare", capostipite dei Vitali di Petritoli fu un Ercole, vissuto tra il XV ed il XVI secolo. D'azzurro ad un palo di legno sostenente un tralcio di vite fogliato e fruttato al naturale, sul quale si posa un'aquila ad ali spiegate pure al naturale, accostata da due montanti d'argento. Nella parte inferiore dello scudo una campagna di rosso con un rastrello d'oro posto sulla partizione, avente tre denti posti in banda.

Partito; nel 1.°: D'azzurro, a due alberi al naturale nodriti su un terreno del medesimo accompagnati in capo da una cometa d'oro in palo accostata da due gigli del medesimo; nel 2.°: Di verde, ad una fascia-sbarra, accompagnata in capo da tre stelle (6) male ordinate ed in punta da due stelle (6), il tutto d'oro. Elmo affrontato aperto. Ornamenti esterni: le lettere P e V maiuscole accostate all'elmo. Supporti: una fronda d'alloro intrecciata con una di quercia.
