Nobility crown ZaraL'origine e la nobiltà di questa famiglia è antichissima. Dai documenti esistenti si rileva come, nel 1300-1400, membri della famiglia rivestissero in quell'epoca cariche ed uffici di altissima dignità. Culla della fam. fu la Dalmazia, dalla qual regione, appunto per necessità delle cariche e degli uffici che i suoi membri ricoprirono, passò in Germania, in Baviera, in Austria, in Francia, pur mantenendo sempre alto l'onore per la propria patria, l'Italia. Terminate le vicende politiche, che afflissero per tanti secoli l'Italia, qui ritornò e si fissò stabilmente, prendendo residenza nelle Marche. Fra le famiglie nobili di questa regione, troviamo infatti segnato il suo nome da oltre quattro secoli; come pure, in documenti che risalgono al nono secolo; ma la sua fama cominciò maggiormente ad emergere nelle storiche guerre fra le Repubbliche Veneziane e Genovesi. Zanin e il figlio Bernardo presero parte alla guerra di Chioggia nel 1379, e vi profusero le proprie ricchezze e versarono il proprio sangue conquistando il titolo di nobili della Serenissima. Nella pace fatta il 9 giugno 1380 troviamo fra i legati delle varie città e repubbliche Giorgio Zara Zanin e il figlio presero parte alla guerra di Chioggia nel 1379 e vi profusero le proprie ricchezze e versarono il proprio sangue, conquistando il titolo di nobili della Serenissima. Nella pace fatta il 9 giugno 1380 troviamo fra i legati alle varie città e repubbliche Giorgio Z. Pietro, altro figlio dello Zanin, dietro richiesta di Venceslao, di Boemia, fu prescelto dalla repubblica veneta per il comando degli eserciti boemi; avendo già egli dato prove della sua valentia ed essendo il più esperto dei condottieri, fu nominato dal medesimo Venceslao, duce supremo delle milizie. In breve il nome di Pietro Zara salì tanto in alto che l'Austria lo chiamò a sé, offrendogli onori e dignità. Da allora si iniziò l'ascesa di questa casata; i discendenti di quel primo ceppo conquistarono, presso la Corte Austriaca, le più alte cariche e gli uffici più eccelsi. Questi, infatti, furono decorati di numerosi ed insigni ordini cavallereschi, investiti di vari titoli nobiliari e creati più volte Signori e feudatari di città, ...
